THE STORY

Children meet Sir Little Dragon as he sits before a cozy fire reading to
his friend Bat. The walls of his cave are lined with books and Sir Little
shows Bat that each one has a title, a title page, and a table of contents.
For mastering this knowledge. Bat is named Bookbat. Bookbat borrows
a book entitled Tales from a Cave to read at home. As Bat is reading,
three old knights visit his friend and find some books about knights.
As the knights are perusing a few books, the dragon enters and a
scuffle ensues. Books are dropped and pages are scattered, which
dismays both the dragon and the knights. When order is restored,
Bookbat takes of putting the books back together, calling attention to the
page numbers, titles, and tables of contents. For this service the knights
award him a medal and rename him Sir Bookbat.
